Prof. Dr Yadav Kumar Deo Bhatta is a senior cardiologist of Nepal.
After completing MBBS, Dr. Bhatta did MD in Internal Medicine from the reputed Postgraduated Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER), Chandigarh, India and further completed DM in Cardiology from the same institute. He further acquired the degree of National Board Fellow in Interventional Cardiology from the Natioal Board of Examinations, India, being trained for two years at the famous Escorts Heart Institute, New Delhi.
He returned to Nepal and started the cardiac Interventional programme in public sector after joining Sahid Gangalal National Heart Center, Kathmandu. He is the pioneer of almost all the existing interventional procedures in the country.
He has performed more than 5000 Coronary angiographies, 3000 Coronary Angioplasty and stenting, more than 1000 Mitral, Aortic and Pulmonary Valvotomies, Pacemakers, ASD, PDA device closures, and many other interventional procedures.
With his education, work and expertise in the field of cardiology, he has been the Professor at National Acedemy of Medical Sciences (NAMS, Bir Hospital), Visiting Professor at the Manmohan Cardiovascular and Transplant Center, Teaching Hospital, Maharajgung. He is the Physician to the President of Nepal from Feberuary 2009.
The country has recognized his work by decorating him the SUPRABAL JANSEWA SHREE medal in 2016. Dr. Bhatta was further awarded the science award (Bigyan Puruskar) by Nepal Academy of Science and Technology in 2019.
After working at the Sahid Gangalal National Heart Center for more than 12 years, he resigned from the post of Head of Department of Cardiology there and is presently the Director of Cardiology at NORVIC International Hospital where he is workking as a director of the department of cardiology and is regularly conducting out patient department and performing the interventional procedures.

Working under a consultant and managing all the in patients and outpatient department, including the Intensive care, CCU, Emergency department.
This is residency program in the hospital where the resident is responsible for all patients in different medical fraternity in the hospital. Involved in teaching of residents and fellow colleagues.
Taking care of all medical patients in the wards, , ICU and Emergency
This is a rotational internship in all departments of the hospital.
This is a 2 years fellowship programme where the fellow is responsible for all patietns undergoing Interventional Catheterization procedures. He is not only responsible for conducting the procedure but also pre and post procedure management. The degree is awarded by the National Board of Examinations, India after rigorous practical and theory examination.
This is a three years course where the residents work only in cardiology and are responsible for the patients in outpatient, inpatient, Emergency, Intensive Medical and Coronary care units and at the catherization Laboratory. They work as the first line doctors in Cardiac patient management at the hospital.
This is a three years course where the residents are rotated in various medical departments and have to manage patients in the outpatient, inpatient, Intensive care and emergency room.
This includes a 4.5 years course with one additional year of Internship at all departments in the hospital.
